XP does not detect my hard drive
hi,
there is the tragedy there were already 2 partions on the hard drive so format is impossible for one and another, since the OS is installed on it but when I insert the CD XP is then unknown message: "The scheme of installation did not detect any hard drive installed in your computer. Make sure that all your hard drives are switched on and connected computer a vote, and that all the hardware-related records are correct. " In short it is strange, when I start working on vista but not with the XP CD!
can any one offer any advise!!

The partition would not be "hiden" by chance?
Re: XP does not detect my hard drive
hi,
what type of HDD chip is on the motherboard, and download a driver onto a floppy disk ,the unpacked driver can't be in a subfolder on the floppy disk, ie. you won't be able to browse to it. Then when you're booting from the XP CD you will se a prompt saying something along the lines of "Press F6 to load additional drivers", press F6 and throw in the driver disk, if you have the right driver it should load and get back to booting the installation. From then on Windows XP should be able to see your disk and continue the installation.

hi,
Try do system restore, or take back up of your data and do complete OS reinstallation.

hi,
The drive you are using is that new?did you format it?
Did you try mapping it? Right click on the drive in disk management and assign it a drive letter. Does it show now?
Did you change anything on your computers?
