Compaq C770 TU - Internal/External Microphone Not working

Dear Friend,

I need Help -Compaq C770 TU - Internal Microphone Not working

I have windows XP service pack 3 installed in my system.

My internal & external microphone is not working.

When i plug in a external headphone, the sound in the computer speaker does not stop. Also for some websites even if i do a mute on the volume control , voice is heard.

Please help

Hi,

You need to install the Microsoft UAA bus driver. Until then, Audio doesnt work on XP. Luckily, HP has that driver on their website.
You can download UAA driver installation file(sp26334.exe) from the below link:

This model of Presario has an audio controller that supports the high definition audio. You need to have Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Bus Driver for High Definition Audio installed on the computer before installing the audio driver.

If the above did not work, please try the alternate ones given below.

Now install the audio driver which is provided below.

Follow the on-screen display to install these drivers. It is adviced to restart the laptop after each install or when the installation wizard asks you to restart.
