System restarts after installing NVIDIA 260GTX
I bought a Nvidia 260GTX, I installed and I started a game but after a while, the computer restarts. Temperatures are good (I'm at around 80 °C, roughly what is found on the test sites of material). I suspect psu to be a little weak in the amperage. I have 22A on the 12V (1) and 22A on the 12V (2). And the psu is 520W max.
1) Does the problem is of the power supply?
2) Do you have a 260GTX? What power supply (watts and amps on the 12v) are you having?
Re: System restarts after installing NVIDIA 260GTX
I am also thinking of the power supply. Which brand is it?
The 260GTX are somewhat greedy I think, so if it does not, take the road that pose such problems.
Re: System restarts after installing NVIDIA 260GTX
No, it's a max in power. But comparing with psu, I have not found more intensely on the 12v (unless you put some more money on it)
Re: System restarts after installing NVIDIA 260GTX
A computer system's components produce large amounts of heat during operation, including CPUs, chipset and graphics cards, along with hard drives. This heat must be dissipated in order to keep these components within their safe operating temperatures, and both manufacturing methods and additional parts are used to keep the heat at a safe level. So I would suggest you to buy a good cooler for your system.
Re: System restarts after installing NVIDIA 260GTX
Well, I bought a new power supply. I took a Antec True Power Trio TP3-650 650W. I did test and the PC has restarted. So it was that.
So I have also taken the opportunity to improve the ventilation of the box in the graphics card (by forcing air from a fan to go to the graphics card). I have earned between 3 and 5 ° C.
Anyway thank you for your opinion.
