HP recovery, full formatting ?
I have now for the first time formatted my HP laptop with a recovery partition (d). I have formatted some computers but with the CD.
Formatting followed a slightly different procedure and went away on the well half an hour, but when I'm on this computer, it is much applications/games that are still there.
I could really thought that everything was deleted in order to get the machine to get faster to get rid of any virus.
Some who know what I did wrong/what I should do?
Re: HP recovery, full formatting ?
You have not done so much wrong, I believe. Press the F11 during startup, start recovery console and computer is back to factory settings.
That means all of the pre-installed software is suddenly back.
Re: HP recovery, full formatting ?
Yes, I pressed F11 and came into the recovery console. But when I look at C:/Program Files all I had of games and applications is the same as just before I formatted, but that does not work.
Re: HP recovery, full formatting ?
What are using Windows XP or Windows Vista and also on C drive or any other partition?
Re: HP recovery, full formatting ?
I am with Windows XP SP3 installed on partition D as a recovery partition.
Re: HP recovery, full formatting ?
This is the reason why it is reinstalling on C drive. Strange that the games, etc. are left.
