Streaming radio problems in Windows Media Player 11
I’m using Windows XP Pro with Media Player 11 and IE 7. I use to stream radio on this system whenever work. Since last few days, radio stopped working or I can even say Media Player is not able to stream Radio any more. When I’m visiting the same site now in same browser (IE), player opens in its window as usual but nothing happens. When I tried copying the link in Windows Media player manually, it says:
“Windows Media Player cannot play any items in the playlist. To find information about the problem, click the Now Playing tab, and then click the icon next to each file in the List pane.”
And when I click that icon, it says “Windows Media Player encountered a problem while playing the file. For additional assistance, click Web Help.” I also tried the Web Help but that is even useless. Do anyone here have any idea regarding this? Please help me to fix it out. Many thanks.
Re: Streaming radio problems in Windows Media Player 11
I dont know if your still having the problem, but i had the same issue and found out what to do.
I Followed these instructions:
Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there are no streaming protocols selected for the Player to use. Select one or more protocols, and then try again.
To select a streaming protocol
Click the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Network tab.
If the Tools menu is not visible, press CTRL+M to display the Classic Menus.
In the Streaming protocols area, select one or more protocol check boxes.
(I selected all of them, didnt know what they do, but it worked after that!)
