hello guys,
I have a gainward bliss 9800gtx, and have little query about it . i woudl like to ask what if i set the fan speed to 60 percent permanently ? gainward expert tool us been used for this purpose. please give some suggestion

Hello, Thats is completely fine. I also have my 8800GTS 512 running at 60% and it has been running for over a year now . That's a good number that keeps the card cool and it is not harmful
In rivatune just put it into the fan speed you like then tick the box to load fan speed at windows startup. This relies on a registry key and not rivatuner itself.My 80% setting kicks in about 5 seconds after turning my pc on.
The GPU is running a very low load during setup, it won't overheat as long as the heatsink gets a small amount of air through it
Fans are rated with MTBF (mean time before failure). They aren't rated to last 8yrs at 30%, 6yrs at 60%, etc. It may last forever at 100% or it may die after 3mo at 30%. No one can determine how long EVERY fan will last. If it dies a premature death before your warranty expires, you can RMA it.
