MacBook Pro having Wireless Problems
hi,
i have 15-inch MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo/2.53GHz (4GB RAM, unibody)and it works fine when i coonect the internet but only problem occurs when the laptop is next to the wireless router! I could connect to my wireless network for several hours and then lose the connection after I put the machine to sleep. but the internet does not work! any reason for this???
Re: MacBook Pro having Wireless Problems
I’m having the same problem on my Macbook Pro. I thought it was related to updating to VMWare 2.0 (vmnet driver), but I disabled VMWare during startup, and it still has problems.
Re: MacBook Pro having Wireless Problems
I replaced the airport card, and the problem was solved for about 3 hours. I’ve noticed that I no longer am dropped from networks, but can only connect to the router (Airport Extreme) if I am within about 5 or 6 feet.
Re: MacBook Pro having Wireless Problems
hi,
I might have figured out the problem. I turned off the "Configure IPv6". Here is how to do it: System Preferences> Network> Advanced> TCP/IP> Turn "Configure IPv6" to off. This has so far fixed my problem. or Try setting the router to use only g mode.
Hope this helps!
Re: MacBook Pro having Wireless Problems
hi,
try this to slove the problem :
Find your original “MacBook Pro Mac OS X Install Disc 1″, please make sure it is yours, not somebody else’s!
copy /System/Library/Extensions/IO80211Family.kext from “Mac OS X Install Disc 1” overwrite to your Macintosh\ HD/System/Library/Extensions/IO80211Family.kext
After couple of seconds, Leopard will pick up your changes and your MacBook Pro will link back to wireless network again without any problem!
