Wiring problem between computer and switch
Hello,
I just met a little problem with the wiring between a computer and a switch: the distance between the PC and the switch is about 60 m Category 5 cable used the problem is that the port where the cable connected to the switch blinks, while the PC's network card is not flashing (the network card is not damaged)!
Thank you for help.
Re: Wiring problem between computer and switch
Hello,
your switch is it administered? Have you taken the crimp on both ends of the cable that connects the PC to the switch by making tests as? If it still does not take you attacks to which the cable is connected? Do you really checked if your problem is not linked to the network card, if so, how did you process? If you have a panel of brewing also checks on this side.
Good luck
Re: Wiring problem between computer and switch
Thank you for your answers, my switch is not manageable, in fact, the cable is connected directly from the port of the NIC to the switch, the network card works well (I'm sure), I think that due to poor quality of the cable,
What do you think?
Re: Wiring problem between computer and switch
Uh, your PC has no light but the switch port yes? Amazing, your PC is not dead? Force 10Mb PC (if the switch permits ...) to test it is working or not
Re: Wiring problem between computer and switch
It will blink only a when the cable is connected So i think its is like one blink always and other when calb e is connected, sorry, forgot how it was. Try ur LAN card in other PCI slot..and install the driver. That should work.
