Hi there,
On an ASUS Striker Extreme Board running Vista I suddenly experience the following problem: All of a sudden (Microsoft Patch day?) the nvidia nForce RAID driver fails to load under Vista. When I look into Windows Defender "Blocked Applications" I see that the driver is blocked from running at startup.
What should I do? I run two SATA disks as a mirrored set (RAID 1),
Look into the "IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers" and "SCSI and RAID Controllers" section of your Device Manager. There you should see the "NVIDIA nForce Serial ATA Controller" and the "NVIDIA nForce RAID Controller". Both are using NVIDIA nForce drivers. Which nForce driver package do you have installed? NVIDIA's 15.23/15.24 sets do not work with nForce4 RAID systems.
First if Defenders is blocking it, DISABLE it. Second, you should never update OS or Drivers with a Virus / Spyware scanner running. Third,I would not let it install those drivers anyhow.go get the drivers prior to the 15.xx series as the 15.xx series has problems.
