Warm phenom 9950
I have a asus motherboard (m3n78-em) and a 140 watt cpu (phenom 9950 BE). I know that the CPU gets hot, but I think that it should be colder than it is.
In the idle (if the cabinet is open) 36 degrees. And it is with my Zalman cooler full-screw (2400 rpm) in the load on to the open side up to 58-59 degrees, and closed a lot more.
My Zalman cooler, I think ought to be something better than the figures come with my computer.
When a cpu is 55-58 degrees should not feel that the radiator is reasonably hot? Because I can easily have the effect on it without getting the slightest feeling that it is slightly warm.
My cpu cooler is a Zalman CNPS9300 AT
I can touch the copper rods completely down by the CPU. Down at the plate without feeling much heat.
It should just say that I put it together, and then a week later, I set down in another cabinet (cpu cooler and from each other). But can it really do much for cooling paste is not used. (and can not understand it so easy, but what say)

Re: Warm phenom 9950
Cooling paste must always be changed, because it keep enough stereotyped. What program are you using to measure with? Even Bios may be wrong, so try several. for example: Everest ultimate, core temp, real temp, bios and certainly a lot of others. See here - http://forums.techarena.in/guides-tutorials/1084227.htm
But my CPU is giving the 40 idle and it is with an ASUS Silent Knight 2 cooler, so think in any case it is not so bad.

Re: Warm phenom 9950
Has tried,
Everest Ultimate
core temp (meter core)
speedfan (the most I use)
So I think it must be so reasonably accurate. But when the maximum being 61 degrees, it is reasonably high load. But it also skips 12-12 degrees. Think it is very reasonable compared to others which have a match.
(PS. My idle temp is a little wrong. It is actually at 46 degrees. It is 36 degrees when the speed is reduced. But when speed is the max, temp of 46 idle and 58-59 load)

Re: Warm phenom 9950
Try to change the cooling paste and clean the PC a little. And do not think if you put more paste it will be better. Put just a little as suitable. Also, did you clean heat-sink from the dust?

Re: Warm phenom 9950
I just have ordered a cold paste. But the PC is brand new, so I dont think the cleaning is required. It is most laborious by cold paste is that it costs more to have sent the package.

Re: Warm phenom 9950
CoolLaboratory Liquid Pro
overpriced though ... it can swipe my phenom down to 23 degrees with my water cooling ;) It is a hassle to get in but damn it works... up to 3-5 degrees better than other pastes.
