Overclocking an AMD Phenom X4 II 940
Hi, I just installed my Phenom X4 II 940 BE@3.0 Ghz then I push a little (at 3.2Ghz). I need your help because I do not know enough OC. My motherboard is a DFI DK 790GX M2RS. My heatsink is a Cooler Master V8.
So, what do I need in the bios to get to this frequency?
Thank you
Re: Overclocking an AMD Phenom X4 II 940
I just installed AMD OverDrive then in the automatic clock, I went up to 3.3Ghz but I never managed to implement its frequencies.
Is there would be someone who could help me?
Thank you

Ideally, when overclock whatsoever in a configuration Intel or AMD is to do it through the bios of the motherboard;)
When you start your pc pressed del during the boot sequence to access the history of your bios ,motherboard then find when you get going in the "engineering bios" you'll see that's where are all overclocking settings.
Re: Overclocking an AMD Phenom X4 II 940
Normally, when you change the CPU clock ratio, your CPU frequency increases? If so, it is basic to 15, I put it to 16.5 but there is no change in CPU-Z it is still 15. In the bios, it is 16.5 (at least that was the wrong thing I change)
Re: Overclocking an AMD Phenom X4 II 940
If you do well reassure yourself that changing the ratio cpu twice increase the fsb. even if the Phenom II apparently come up with better frequency bus ... logically 16.5 x200 = 3300 mhz a gain of 300MHz compared to the base frequency ... apparently the rub is that under windows overclocking this frequency is apparently not taken into account with you, strange: confused: you did do "exit and save" to save the settings in your BIOS?
