Restore Outlook contacts on Windows XP
Following a virus attack, I have to format and reinstall windows.
However, I would not lose, among other things, but mails. I use outlook. I want to keep my contacts. On my last formatting, I did not get to keep.
Is there a solution? I am using Windows XP.

If the partition is always visible, you can connect your hdd in a rack or as a external hdd on another machine. Be careful that the machine has many anti-virus updates. After plugging in your hdd on another pc, if it is recognized and also the data, you can retrieve data.

Thank you for the reply but how to store them? I can not find them.
Re: Restore Outlook contacts on Windows XP
For the mails go to Tools - Options - Mail - Data Files. There should be something like C:\Documents and Settings\%user%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst
For contacts, I don't know whether we can export them.

Under Outlook, personnel files contain all the e-mail, calendar, contact list, notes and tasks. Outlook allows you to make backup easily.
Pull down the File menu in Outlook and select the Import and Export .... Wizard Import and Export starts. In the list of actions that are available, select Export to a file. Validate by clicking the Next button.
In the next screen, select the type Personal Folder File (.pst). Validate by clicking the Next button.
Then select the personal folders that you want to export. Validate by clicking the Next button.
Then press Finish button.
