Firewall Disabled at Startup
I always keep my Firewall enabled but since last couple of weeks I always notice that whenever I restart the computer I see a balloon in the system tray saying “Firewall Disabled: Click on this balloon to fix the problem”. I click the same and Firewall starts again.
But the problem is why is it getting disabled every time I shutdown the computer? How I can fix it? Many thanks.
Re: Firewall Disabled at Startup
Hello BuvDeep, first of all you should always post your problems in details so that we can help you out easily and effectively. Now in this case can you please tell me:
- Operating System you are using?
- Service Pack level this operating system is currently patched up to?
- What 'security software packages' do you have installed?
- AntiVirus
- AntiSpyware/Malware
- Third party Firewall
- Etc...
Re: Firewall Disabled at Startup
Thanks for the reply friend and sorry I for the incomplete details. Anyways, here are the answer for the things you asked:
I am running Windows XP SP3
Windows Firewall ON
Automatic Updates ON
AVG 8 Free ON
Anti-virus
Anti spyware
Any help?
Re: Firewall Disabled at Startup
I guess this could be happening because before your Firewall loads completely, Security Center is loading first and you cannot do anything in this because this should be temporary. If it goes for longer days than I suspect any infection on your system. You should scan your system completely and see if you get anything malicious. Also try to download/run the MSRT manually: http://www.microsoft.com/security/ma...e/default.mspx
