PS/2 Keyboard Not Working
hi,
i have Motherboard: ASUS A7V8X-X (the one with LAN and Audio)
Processor: AMD AthlonXP 2800+ (333 MHz FSB)
RAM: 2 x Kingston 128 MB, 266 MHz (reason that my proc can only run at 1,7 GHz)
Keyboard: Azona PS/2 keyboard (generic)
Mouse: Logitech Trackman (?) USB (with USB to PS/2 converter)
It works fine my there is small problem related to my Keyboard. I can't repare a mistake without my keyboard (i have to hold down the shiftkey to confirm) so I always have to start in safe mode (in which the keyboard also doesn't work which makes the problem more annoying). I just need the kayboard.
Can anybody help me (driver or something)? Thanks.
Re: PS/2 Keyboard Not Working
hi,
Are you able to get another keyboard and try that to see if it works (borrow one overnight from work, or something)?
Is it an original Windows install CD? Not suggesting you're using a pirated version, but I've had slipstream CDs that worked perfectly in the past only to start giving strange errors and behaviour.
Re: PS/2 Keyboard Not Working

Re: PS/2 Keyboard Not Working
Have you tried booting to windows with just a mouse, or just a keyboard to try and replicate the lock-up? Also try booting to safe mode .Try deleting your pagefile and rebooting.

Try opening Device Manager and removing any keyboards or mice you see. Check for references to them under Universal Serial Bus controllers and remove any you see.
Do not restart but power off the computer, attach your PS/2 devices, and boot up.
Re: PS/2 Keyboard Not Working
1) make sure your ps/2 ports are turned on in the bios. while youre there check usb legacy settings
2)the belkin usb --> 2 ps/2 adaptor works really well. plug in the adaptor first and then the device.
3) try going to hardware manager and manually installing a "human interface device" driver for the keyboard.
