Internet Connection Problems With Vista Beta 2
hi
i have Gigabyte - 8800 GT
Q6600 intel quadcore @ 2.4 GHz
Windows XP 32-bit
I use Internet connection sharing of WinXP SP2.
i installed the Vista beta 2 has no internet but the worst is that i can ping internet websites! I haven't loaded any softrware or made any changes except to IPv4 settings. Once I put my TCP/IP specific settings in I can see other computers on my home network, but it still will not connect to the internet.
Re: Internet Connection Problems With Vista Beta 2
hi,Try this:
1. Upgraded firmware on router (not sure if this did anything but it seemed to be dropping the internet connection less than it was previously)
2. Turned off IP6 and both Link Layer Discoveries in the LAN Connection Properties. This got me back online immediately.
At least something to try!

See whether you can view another Web page
To do this, follow these steps:
Start Internet Explorer.
- In the Address bar at the top of the browser window, enter the web addresses.
- If you do not receive a similar error message after you enter one of these addresses in the Address bar, contact the owner of the Web site where you see the problem. The site may be temporarily offline or experiencing other issues.
Re: Internet Connection Problems With Vista Beta 2
One workaround is to disable SPI on the router. That significantly weakens a key layer of network security, but it allows Internet traffic to get through. Unfortunately, the D-Link DI-724U, like several other products in the same family, doesn't allow SPI to be disabled".
