Resetting a forgetten Password in Windows

Hi friends,

I am Using Window XP and unfortunately I have forgotten the Windows Login password. Can anyone help me out? Or tell me what the procedure, for resetting a forgetten Password.

Following are my PC Configuration.

Intel Dual core 2.66 Ghz
915 Motherboard with Intel Chipset
120 GB HDD
512 mb RAM.

Following are the Steps for RESET A PASSWORD USING THE ADMINISTRATOR ACCOUNT:-

1. Boot into Safe Mode.
2. Log on using the built-in Administrator account.
3. Control Panel,Than click on User Accounts.
4. On the Users tab, select a user name, the password to change and click Reset Password.

Now restart your Computer and you would be able to login successfully without any issue and let me know if you have any issue.

Here is one more Method of RESET A PASSWORD AT THE LOGON SCREEN WITH THE COMMAND PROMPT:-


At the logon screen, press Shift+F10 to open a Command Prompt with adminisrative priviledges and type:

net user {username} {password}

{username} = The Account’s User Name
{password} = This will be the new password


It will work for you.
