Re: Network access problem for Linux
Thanks for your quick reply but what i need is passwordless access to my Linux Machines.
In all i have 7 machines on my LAN out which 3 are Linux (2 Ubuntu and 1 DreamLinux) the rest are using Windows XP. Using Ubuntu my shared folder can be accessed without entering a password on similar terms i can access other system too without entering any password. If i try to access my machine from any windows machine it asks for a password..I want paswordless access to my computer from windows machines....
Re: Network access problem for Linux
Hi Raajiv
The first thing you got to do is set the permissions in Windows for you to access your shared windows folders from linux, ie, windows group policy, user set to full access to your files.
For Ex: windows user: jessie, full control,
By default windows likes to have administrator account set as only full owner, change that to your user account and set full acess to it , that is what i did , and now everytime I want to acces my windows pc's I have to put my user name and password or the user name and password of the acount on windows that you want to access to.
Hope this helps you.....
