Overclock Dual Core2 E 8500
I have a CPU E 8500 3.16 GHz. Motherboard ASUS P5 Q PRO. I would like to know how I can overclock? I hesitate to use a dual Core 2 Quad Q 9550 2.83 ghz.
I would be remiss if this Dual QUAD is compatible with my CM and whether it would be more powerful than the 8500 E overclocker?
For info I have 4 GB of G. SKILL 8500 E DUAL CHANNEL and VISTA OS PRENIUM 64 BITS
Graphics Card : SAPPHIRE Radeon HD4870 TOXIC 512 MB
Mainly for games
Thank you in advance for your answers
Re: Overclock Dual Core2 E 8500
For your E 8500 3.16 GHz you should target 4GHz. Max
Re: Overclock Dual Core2 E 8500
For overclocking E8500, you can consider with a minimum of skill and perseverance cover 4.5 GHz. Features according to the cooling and, of course, this batch of CPUs (all E8500 will not achieve the same frequency).
Re: Overclock Dual Core2 E 8500
Yes, but you told the frequency but it is not what it is cooling and is 4.5 ghz with watercooling.
Re: Overclock Dual Core2 E 8500
No I do not have watercolling. I have a box with a twelve hundred Noctua CPU fan NHU12P. I am not master in overclocking what i need is a sustainable and stable overclock without too much risk.
Thank you for your responses:biggrin:
Re: Overclock Dual Core2 E 8500
Anyway, overclocking the bios is the best way to control its overclock:thumbup1:
Re: Overclock Dual Core2 E 8500
So you advise me to do so by the BIOS is to reboot every time you change?
Re: Overclock Dual Core2 E 8500
Anyway, with the bios, once you set your overclock, you are affecting more and restart as many times as you want, the overclock will not move;)
Re: Overclock Dual Core2 E 8500
but I started the Overclocking. I'm running at 3.16 GHz you advise me to climb step by how much?
Should I make a OCCT after each change?
Thank you for your help;)
Re: Overclock Dual Core2 E 8500
No problem, So if you want a lightweight and stable overclock, you can simply put your fsb to 380 and settle on your Dram frequency DDR2-800 (for now) after you do a occt if you want, but until you do no problem, it turns! :thumbup1:
