Upgrade computer suggestion
I'd like to have a more powerful PC than that I have right now. It is quite good! I would like to know if its worth just to change the processor, I have a Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 overclocked to 3GHz with Gigabyte 965P DS4 with 2 GB of RAM Gskill PC6400.
I play a lot (Crysis, Fallout3, Farcry 2, etc ...) in addition to the PC, I have a NVIDIA GeForce 8800GTS 512MB.
I hope to hear from you very soon!
Re: Upgrade computer suggestion
In my opinion if you want to win in performance you can always change the graphics card but it still plays well.
You can spend your money, according to me, on an ATI 4870 or GTX 260. If your budget does not allow that you can always take a ATI 4850 or 9800GTX +
For processor, changing the processor will not win you a lot, at least to take as a model and the E8xxx o/c.
Re: Upgrade computer suggestion
I too have the same and for me it is not worth. I would say rather to use core i7 whose prices have dropped in recent months. If you really want to experience an increase in power, you should use high-end Core 2: Q9770 for example, but it is costly.
Re: Upgrade computer suggestion
The Q9770 (or QX9770?) rises less frequency than E8xxx therefore take as much cheaper than a Core2 Quad and provides much better performance in games, right?
Wait for the i7 to change everything, yet you will not greatly.
Re: Upgrade computer suggestion
quite frankly, no.
your rig is very good already, and this will save you to pass the time came to i7
