How to clear the BIOS password ?
Surely you have ever wondered how you clear the password prevents access to a PC SETUP or even able to boot. Well, there are basically 3 ways:
1. The most common is to open your computer and remove the lithium battery, wait a few seconds to clear the data from the well and put back CMOS battery. Normally this will erase the password (and other things that need to reconfigure: hour drives ,...) and is not complicated.
2. Bridging that usually have a jumper on the new plates and old enough. Well, usually near the battery plate and marked with letters such as a Clear CMOS. In modern models of plates just make the jumper to "Default" and put a few seconds in the "Clear" and then return it to its site. It is recommended to do with the source disconnected from the electrical network (no need to boot the PC, but if it does not work you can start a few seconds with the jumper on "Clear"). In older models may be more difficult to find this jumper is not so good because it brought in new, and is not anywhere near the battery.
3. In extreme cases, such as in the old 386, 486 and some other models that have battery welded, and neither are the CMOS reset jumper you can use a software program to clean it. These programs act as a real virus unless clean single CMOS without. I use one called KILLCMOS (what you'll find in any search engine like Google, Altavista, etc.). if you have have to disable active antivirus because KILLCMOS code is interpreted as anti-virus and take steps .. It should be run from MSDOS.
4. With DEBUG. It runs under DOS and do not require any specific program, the first thing you have to do is start the computer with a DOS system disk once you have loaded only run the domestic DEBUG as follows:
Quote:
c: \> Debug -> enter
c: \> 0 70 17 -> enter
c: \> 0 71 ff -> enter
c: \> q
