Problem with HP 855C

Hey everyone,
I just got a viata machine 64 bit, and I have a very old and very reliable HP 855C printer. There is no Vista driver available for 855C, so instead i dowloaded the HP driver for 870. By far its going fine apart from one problem, before each print job I get a single page with "@PJL ENTER LANGUAGE=PCL" on the first line and the rest blank.

Why don't you trythe Deskjet 500C driver built into Vista -- Use Add Printer.

Thanks Bob for your prompt suggestion, I tried it but it gives some technical error while printing i.e, when printing black letters they come out a reddish brown.. don't know why... But have to say it's a good work around if I don't need color. I suspect that if I want color i have no other options other than using the XP machine.

When it comes to Paper Handling the 800 series HP printers were not very reliable. They were problematic when feeding certain papers after the rollers became less pliable.
Even I think that you may have to go with windows XP for colour Printing since you dont get the drivers for Vista of HP855C.
