Re: Menu inactive in Ubuntu 8.10
I Also Had a Similar Issue but i solved it but before doing that i got a "cannot be written to" error when I ran Alacarte from Terminal, so i had to used sudo nautlius by replacing /home/jesse/.config/menus/applications.menu with /home/newUser/.config/menus/applications.menu changed the owner of the file from newUser to jesse Everything works perfectly fine
Re: Menu inactive in Ubuntu 8.10
A POSSIBLE SOLUTION
Open a terminal and type the following:
~ $ Mv .config / menus / .config / menus.old
That's it. The bug is reported, but the solution seems not very well known. Only flaw of this method: Some of the items that had been disabled in the menu will return active.
