In Standby mode data gets lost ?

I am Having Windows XP running on my desktop, and at the same time I have some questions regarding power loss:-
I know that if there is a power failure while the computer is in hibernation, no session data is lost, because eit has being saved in the HDD.
But what if there is a power failure while the computer is in STANDBY mode, with session data saved to the RAM – will get lost?

My Pc configuration are as follows:-

Intel 2.4 Ghz
865 Motherboard with Intel Chipset.
512 mb Ram
80gb HDD.

Standby Mode just works as a computer whenever you’re using it and if the power goes off.Whatever the documents your have opened or dats you have written it will get lost.

Hibernation is not a shut down method.It’s a power saving feature.Hiberation may write the data to HDD but it is done when you wake-up from hiberation it will restore the data.
