AMD or Q6600 Processor help needed

I want to get a new processor i am confused between Intel Q6600 and AMD Processor.

Go for Intel Q6600 instead of AMD till you dont have any specific reasons for it.....even the phenom 9xxx series is good but not sure if it works as fast as a Q6600.

AMD phenom is not bad but .. atleast i wont consider it till i dont have a AM2 mother board and looking for an upgrade....Not to mention Phenoms are poor overclockers.
If you absolutely have to go for Phenom X4 for whatever reasons, 9850/9950 is something closest to Q6600 you can get right now.

Speaking of AMD i feel it has too much short-comings, if now you want real power-pack performance, speed then you should go for Q6600 or else you can work it out with AMD2 or AMD3...

It's best if you answer this question "how desperately do you need your processor to multi task.... " if nothing on that line than go for E8400 or else Q6600 is the best ......
