when the screen goes black in the recovery, press the screen to reappear image.
My psp version is 3.40 oea and i am not really a expert in doing this stuff
I had the same exact problem after upgrading to 3.40 OE-A and it turned out one of my settings was off in recovery mode. so go into recovery mode and check your settings. make sure you can enter all the settings menus as i had a corupt configuration file and needed to reflash my flash0 to fix it. Make sure you do lots of rading first befre trying to flash your flash0 though or take it back to whre you had it upgraded.
