Ntldr missing after formatting the hard drive
I am having the problem of "NTLDR is missing" when formatting my hard drive. When I boot my Windows XP CD, the drive starts but nothing happens and the above message appears anyway.
For your information my drive works very well (had tried in another), and I had tried with two different versions of Windows XP Pro and the result is substantially the same.
I searched the net all day but nothing helped me. Do you have any solution to this?

Use TestDisk and rebuilds a MBR.

I didn't find any test disk? I have looked in "hard drive tools". Where is it ? How to use it?
Re: Ntldr missing after formatting the hard drive
TestDisk is a powerful free data recovery software! It is used to help recover lost partitions and/or make non-booting disks bootable again when these symptoms are caused by faulty software, certain types of viruses or human error (such as accidentally deleting a Partition Table).
TestDisk can
* Fix partition table, recover deleted partition
* Recover FAT32 boot sector from its backup
* Rebuild FAT12/FAT16/FAT32 boot sector
* Fix FAT tables
* Rebuild NTFS boot sector
* Recover NTFS boot sector from its backup
* Fix MFT using MFT mirror
* Locate ext2/ext3 Backup SuperBlock
* Undelete files from FAT, NTFS and ext2 filesystem
* Copy files from deleted FAT, NTFS and ext2/ext3 partitions.
Download TestDisk
Re: Ntldr missing after formatting the hard drive
Download Powermax.exe utility and do a quick test of your hdd. If you get one or more error(s), do a low-level format with Powermax.
