cannot display this video mode
I have a Dell Dimension 4600 I just replaced a hard drive and when I reinstituted Windows XP it failed to install a video card driver. I went to Dell and downloaded a driver and installed.
Once download was installed it from the basic 16 bit to 32 bit, I upped the resolution and immediately upon hitting apply the screen displayed the message "cannot display this video mode"
I am locked out cannot get message off screen, I rebooted via holding in the power button and still displays message. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,

Re: cannot display this video mode
Boot into Safe Mode, then set the suitable monitor resolution , then reboot as usual back into normal mode.To get into Safe Mode, as the computer begins to boot up, repeatedly press and release the F8 key. That will get you to the boot menu where you can choose Safe Mode.
Re: cannot display this video mode
This error indicates that current monitor refresh rate is not correct i.e out of monitor range. You need to consult monitor manufacturer to get correct refresh rate values (visit web site or read manual). Once you got the correct values, reconfigure your monitor (X windows) using any one the command.
