Concerns with Blocks in safari and firefox
I realize a layout with plug in the Blocks. When I tested with Safari or Firefox on Mac, everything goes well, the texts are in place and images too. But when I visualize the same page on PC with Internet Explorer, disaster, the texts are truncated: they need more space to display in full. I then have to redo my layout and provide larger blocks texts so that the texts appear entirely on PC with Internet Explorer. But suddenly, on a Mac with Safari and Firefox, I have large empty spaces rather unsightly.
Is there a solution?
Re: Concerns with Blocks in safari and firefox
This problem is caused by a number of things. Mostly when the font that is seen on one browser or platform is significantly different than the font used on other browsers or on other platforms.
Blocks comes with quite a few tools to help you cope with this situation.
In your particular situation it sounds like you have a larger font and it's really much larger on a PC. I suspect choosing a font that is more web-safe and consistent cross browsers might improve your results.
Re: Concerns with Blocks in safari and firefox
Thank you for your help.
The ideal solution would be much safer than Internet Explorer behaves like other browsers, but we should not dream!
Re: Concerns with Blocks in safari and firefox
I often have dreams that they'll find some huge security problem in it. So unfixable that everyone must upgrade. Until then, we just have to spend a bit of extra time with our fonts.
