Is DDR3 compatible with X58 motherboard
I recently purchased a MSI Eclipse X58 motherboard and I kept my old RAM sticks (DDR3 1333MHz CL7 1.7 v). But I heard that it was very bad because the X58 could not accept the 1.7 V of my memory and only I7 runs on X58 motherboards ...
someone can tell me if this is true?

Re: Is DDR3 compatible with X58 motherboard
I meant it functions normally Dual channel with my old motherboard but if I put on my new motherboard, will it burn my Processor?
It operates at 1.7 V in 1333 and 1.5 v in 1066 (recommended) and someone told me that X58 should not exceed 1.6 V or it will burn.
@ Alexisus
ah yes I see
The motherboard supports only 1.5 v then.
Re: Is DDR3 compatible with X58 motherboard
Yes no problem with the DDR3 1.5 v @ 1.7 v. A lot of people uses the "old" kits on X58 motherboards because even if these kits work @ 1.8 v, they also agree to turn @ 1.6 v. At a lower frequency, they works without problem.
