You can create recovery disks. Either look in your manual, on Lenovo's
website, or contact Lenovo tech support for how to do it with your specific
model laptop.

Would be easier to boot a Linux Live CD and use partimage to back up
across the network. If it's ever needed to restore it, quite easy to
reverse the process.

The program below will make a bootable DVD copy, or to an
external USB hard drive... I've used it, works well
Linux version includes a MAKEDISK.EXE program to create a bootable CD
You MUST use the Linux version if you have a USB mouse or USB keyboard
(the DOS version won't work if you have a USB mouse or USB keyboard)
or if you don't have a 3.5 inch boot disk so need to boot from a CD
(be sure to set your CD/DVD drive as FIRST for booting, in your
computer BIOS)

I have had several IBM and Lenovo ThinkPads, and am a regular poster in the
unofficial ThinkPad forums, but I have never heard of the Y series, or Y10,
so it is not a ThinkPad.
Your answer would definitely be the correct one if other Lenovo laptops,
like the IdeaPad line and others, have the ThinkVantage software, but I
doubt it.

Cheers. But this laptop is not a ThinkPad by the look of it (literally), so
I really doubt it would come with all the ThinkVantage stuff which is
catered for enterprise, like R&R.

I use the Image for Linux and yes it can copy the hidden partitions. You can
use it for Windows. You don't have to have Linux. They also have Image for
DOS if you think you will be more comfortable with it. I have used both and
also Image for Windows which was the link you provided. They all have a 30
day free trial so try them and then decide if you want to buy.

Thanks for the info. I'll keep it in my for next time I need to do that.
As I would only need it for copying an entire disk with hidden partitions,
on an occasional basis, the free trial would do, so it's even free.

Double check on the free trial. I am not sure but at one time the free trial
allowed to make an image but not let you restore it. Or maybe that was on
one their other products BING that is a boot manager and can also make
copies or partitions.
