My DVD has jammed
Hi,
I would be most thankful if someone could help me out with the following issue:
Yesterday as I had ejected the tray to my DVD on my laptop, I guess that something happened inside the DVD compartment / space as it simply wouldn't close. As I can't fully see inside the compartment due to the construction of the tray, which hinders good insight, I simply assume that something is blocking the tray on the inside. It is possible to push the tray half-way in, but then something is blocking it, and I don't dare to push it in any harder as then something possibly might break.
As I am turning off and on the computer the thing that is blocking the tray doesn't move to its original position, that is, it doesn't move away and still blocks the tray as it slides inside.
Would anyone have a bright idea to how I could solve this problem? Is it possible to control the hardware in my DVD player, i.e. activate it's moving parts and mechanisms, so that the blocking piece inside the DVD compartment moves away, to its original position. I would be thankful for all ideas? (However, I do want to avoid screwing apart my computer.)
Thank you guys for helping a layman out!

Re: My DVD has jammed
What you can try is open the Computer Case and see if the cables to the DVD drive are properly attached, if it is still the try another cable assuming it as an IDE cable probably.
