The detection failed this can be due to a corrupted installation..

Office 2007 was failing to install below updates:

Security Update for Microsoft Office system 2007 (KB951808)
Security Update for 2007 Microsoft Office System (KB955936)
Security Update for Microsoft Office system 2007 (KB956828)
Security Update for Microsoft Office system 2007 (KB958439)
Ive tried downloading and installing them manually but not i am getting an error message saying "The detection failed, this can be due to a corrupted installation database."

I have tried running "sfc /scannow" command and have tried running Office Diagnostics Tool but i still get same error. Is there anything i can try here after??

According to the error there is something wrong with your data base, probably corrupted. I will suggest you to make a clean installation of Office 2007. Rather than simply uninstalling it from Add/Remove Programs better use Windows Cleanup Utility for uninstalling Office 2007 manually and than go ahead with reinstallation. I dont think you should get same error message as a new database will get created.

Are you having Office Compatibility Pack installed in your system?? Actually i have come across some people who have mentioned that the cause of the error was Compatibility Pack in their case. After uninstalling Compatibility Pack installation of updates went fine for them. Just make sure that you are restarting your system after uninstalling it. If you dont want to lose your Compatibility Pack then you can uninstall it temporarily and install it again once all updates get installed.
