Re: TRENDnet TEW-635BRM Hybrid Modem Router
In addition, you will also get a quartet of 10/100Mbps Ethernet ports as well as a switch for wired connections. Where data security is concerned, the TEW-635BRM comes with a two-layer firewall system and supports the official Wi-Fi Protected Setup spec that makes securing a wireless link between supporting computers a snap. All forms of administration will be handled over the Internet, making it a snap for Windows, Mac and Linux users to configure the device.
Re: TRENDnet TEW-635BRM Hybrid Modem Router
This is probably not the place to post support questions, so admins move me if I am in error.
I just purchased the 635 and am trying to set it up with my Qwest ADSL. I was told it is a PPPoA network (note that I am not proficient with networking at all) and they gave me a login and password for setting up my new
non-qwest modem. The setup wizard detects my modem as PPPoA and it brings me to the password page. I enter the information that Qwest gave me, and it gives me an error "password must be ascii chars." Now I'm not entirely sure what that means. The password Qwest gave me has letters, one number, and one capital letter. Qwest told me the password was correct, trendnet told me the password was not correct (are numbers ascii?). And now Qwest is out for the 4th of July so I am stuck with a modem that I cannot connect to the internet with. Should I talk to Qwest again or Trendnet? Any help/information/criticism is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
