Unable to copy files larger than 4GB
I bought a large external hard disk to store my DVD and other backups. It is a 500GB LaCie Brick. I copied my backup, without any problem, about 1 or 2GB.
But the problem is that the files larger than 4GB (such as iso, etc) are impossible to store on HDD. I have a message improper use of legal hard drive - While it must remain 300GB, and other larger file can be copied if they are smaller pieces of 2-3GB
The internal disc is a Maxtor 500GB formatted in FAT32.
Re: Unable to copy files larger than 4GB
I have had the same problem while transferring files larger than 4GB. However I searched a lot on Google and got the solution. What I did was I formatted my external hard drive in FAT32 file system and it worked in my case. I hope it will help you too.
Re: Unable to copy files larger than 4GB
A simple solution is to cut your files into pieces (less than 4GB), copy on your external hard drive and then recombine the pieces when you need the file. That's what I do with larger files like iso. You can use software like winrar which splits the files into pieces and even can combine them again whenever needed.

Well thank you for your responses, I will try them. But pddaugusto, I would prefer to stick with NTFS format only.
Thank you again
