Is it possible to change the video card on portable PC
Is it possible to get a better video card on your portable PC than they already are?
I want someone who can explain me how can I change the video card on my portable PC. I currently have Dell computer with Windows XP installed. Now I'm thinking to buy NVIDIA 256MB video card and I want to know how can I change it in my portable pc.

Its not as easy to upgrade your laptop as like you do on a "normal" PC. A "normal" PC nowadays has a PCI-Express slot where you can insert and replace a video card easily.
But since you have a laptop/portable computer, I doubt you'll be able to do that upgrade simply because laptops have its GPU (Graphical processor unit) integrated to the motherboard and also laptops don't have slots available for upgrades.

Installing a new video card in a Dell laptop PC can be tricky. In fact, in some cases, there is no way to change the video card that your Dell laptop came with. If you are having Dell laptops such Dell Inspiron 8500 or similar laptops, then it might be possible. Just check it before moving further to find out if the video card in your laptop can be upgraded.
- Remove the battery from the laptop and unplug the AC adapter.
- Lay the LCD screen flat down.
- Unscrew the three keyboard screws and carefully push the keyboard forward, then lift it off the laptop (not necessarily to remove the keyboard completely).
- Remove the LCD ribbon connector by gently pulling on the tag.
- Remove the four screws that hold the video card in place and lift the video card out of the laptop.
- Place the new video card in place and replace the four screws.
- Re-attach the ribbon connector for the LCD.
- Replace the keyboard and screw back into place.
- Replace the battery and power up the computer.
- Follow the instructions on screen to install the correct video drivers for your laptop.

In some simple words, you can't do (not recommended) that and if you want a better graphics than you definitely need to go for another laptop.
