I want to replace my laptop for Christmas. With a little searching on the net I find the HP Pavilion DV5-1199ef 15.4" (BLUE RAY, Core2 Duo, 9600 gt 512 MB, 4 GB of RAM).
Currently my laptop is a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pi 1556 purchased two years ago with core 2 duo, 2 GB RAM, 120 GB HDD, GeForce 7600GT.
What do you think? Does the performance difference is worth buying? I am open to other proposals.

if you play, it is primarily with the graphics card you can see a difference:
7600 GT has a 3DMark 2006 score of 2850 points
9600 GT has a 3DMark 2006 score of 4800 points (on the same config)
Also the 4 GB of RAM will make a little more under vista, but you can save as much on your pc for cheap
Personally, I would rather drive BlueRay, or wait a bit and save more expensive to get a better graphics card into the laptop
I admit it makes me hesitate. It's an investment. A small question, how do we know the amount of RAM you can add and what kind should we buy?
for the quantity, you refer to the manual of your laptop
for the type of RAM you can use a program like Everest, which gives the characteristics of all parts of your laptop
I don't require the graphics card because I just play very few games. I play a call of duty 4 without problem. Also with the hard disk, I will go for 120 GB. For the ram I watch I can not make more than 2 GB (I don't any more).
