the Dolby AC3 (2000) codec is not installed on your computer
I am not able to play a movie using Windows Media Player. If I load the video in WMP then it says "acquiring codec", and then it will say "codec acquired" but if it is trying to play the video, then there is a little white x inside a red circle with the title of the movie. If I click on it then it will give me some kind of error
"Windows Media Player Error Message Help.
You've encountered error message C00D10D1 while using Windows Media Player.
The following information might help you troubleshoot the issue.
Codec is missing
Windows Media Player cannot play the file (or cannot play either the audio or video portion of the file) because the Dolby AC3 (2000) codec is not installed on your computer. The missing codec might be available to download from the Internet. To search for the Dolby AC3 (2000) codec, see WMPlugins.com"
Can anyone please help me out. Thanks
re: the Dolby AC3 (2000) codec is not installed on your computer
AC3 audio is called as Dolby Digital Surround Sound and it is often found on DVD disks. There are some dvd software or video editing tool that can stomp on a previously working AC3 decoder or the video decoder if it worked before, this is what might have happened. You can download the latest AC3 filter and install it on your pc and after that you will not have any issue after that.

Thanks for the information, I will try to do that and report back whether it worked for me or not.
