KDDI Sony Ericsson Xmini Walkman phone
Japanese carrier KDDI have announced a tiny new Walkman phone by Sony Ericsson. The Xmini slider measures just 44 x 75 x 18mm, and has a touch-sensitive control surface that lights up with music transport buttons when the phone is closed.

As you can see from the picture it’s look small and at 75 x 44 x 18 mm you could say that. Packet into this tiny Walkman phone you get a QVGA (320×240 pixels) screen, 4GB of on-board memory and dedicated music control keys, Bluetooth, basic messaging functionality and I’m sure a few other things.

The Xmini is not exactly a device that can be compared with the latest Japanese phones, i.e. it doesn’t have a 800 x 480 pixels display, a 5MP camera or other things like that. So what makes it special then?

You get essentially the same features of a basic normal-sized music phone, they just managed to squeeze into the small device. Some of those features include Bluetooth, basic messaging, MP3 ringtone support and audio playback. Not really that big a deal, but it’s really cute tiny. A set of nice dedicated music keys is hidden just below the phone’s display, appearing only when you need to control the Walkman player.
The specs and features of Sony Ericsson Xmini include
- A 1.8 inch TFT display with 320 x 240 pixels
- CDMA connectivity
- Clear stereo sound
- Bluetooth
- Email
- 4GB of internal memory
- 75 grams
- 75 x 44 x 18 mm

Re: KDDI Sony Ericsson Xmini Walkman phone
Other features crammed inside include Bluetooth connectivity, basic messaging functions, MP3 ringtone support as well as audio playback. Nothing much to shout about, and chances are it won't make it Stateside either. Would you be keeping your fingers crossed that the Sony Ericsson Xmini will be available outside of Japan?
