CPU refuse overclock
Have problems with over clock on my computer, which has always worked well before. Installed vista for a while and it worked fine, but then when I was overclocking, it would simply not start. How I did with volts, etc., so it just started and restore the settings each time after the BIOS image came up.
Tested to remove the sound card and use the motherboard's internal card instead, and then it worked fine. Thought it should have had the power to do.
Here's the problem anyway: Reinstalled xp yesterday and now it's the same problem again, only now it does not work how much stuff as I disconnect! Have removed the sound card, all the fans and even one of the hard disks, but the CPU still will not over clock. Unable even to raise it with a single MHz without the reboot.
Have E6550, Gigabyte GA-P35-D3SR and 2 GBCorsair XMS2 PC in 5400.
Has been able to watch it to 3.2 GHz, and everything has worked fine before. Help with this would be wonderful!

Re: CPU refuse overclock
Your sound card maybe drawing 10W max ie, its power is completely irrelevant to match. Rather, it is your memories. Sensible PC6400 higher are cheap today.
