I would like to have your opinions on my computer. I would like to upgrade my PC. I use it primarily for Photoshop CS 3. I am thinking to change my graphics card, motherboard and the ram.
What do you advise? My current configuration:
Operating system: Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2
Motherboard: Asus A7N8X-X
Processor: AMD Athlon 2800+
1GB DDR SDRAM
Video card: RADEON 9600 PRO 256 MB
HDD: 250 GB and 320GB external drive
Think of a new OS and possibly move to 64-bit and 4 GB of RAM in order to play RAW comfortably.
According to me,
Motherboard: Abit GA-MA78G-DS3H
CPU: AMD Phenom X4 9550
RAM: Dual Channel DDR2, 2 x 1 GB PC2-8500
I will say not to go with AMD Phenom X4 9550 simply because it eats the complete computer. I would say just go for Vista 64 bit operating system only if you have to move to 4 GB of RAM. However, I would say that Windows XP SP3 is a very good OS.
About the OS, XP is best for me and I have no desire to go for Vista. Regarding motherboard, I think Abit GA-MA78G-DS3H is a good suggestion. About RAM, I am thinking just to have about 2GB (not more than that). About CPU, need to think over it once again.
