Loss of FPS when playing games like Racedriver GRID
Yesterday I was playing Racedriver GRID, very pleasant game, but I am having display problems during the game. The frame rate gets drop every moment, the game slows down and gives the jerky images. Then the rate goes back, and here I have the impression that the PC is catching up with the FPS lost i.e. the game is accelerating suddenly. And finally it becomes as normal.
For your info, I play on HD ready TV, with 1360 x 768 definition, refresh rate of 60Hz, without multi-sampling, and vertical synchronization.
Hardware Peripherals:
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600
2GB RAM
ATI Radeon HD 4850.
Re: Loss of FPS when playing games like Racedriver GRID
Have you tried to lower the quality of games and the resolution to see if it solves the issue?

Thank you for your response.
For the quality of the display, I think I'm almost to a minimum. I can always change the resolution, but in this case it is more interesting to play on TV. Also for your knowledge, I have the latest patch with me.

Just check the CPU usage graph by opening the "Task Manager" and look it under "Performance" before playing, so you can actually see if the CPU is overloaded.
I think there are two reasons for such type of issues:
- Abnormality in the system, bogus drivers, or system infected with harmful adware/spyware/virus
- Hard drive working too slowly or only to the task. Ideal gaming PC should have 2 separate drives to preserve the availability of disk system in all circumstances (loading maps, levels, etc).
Look at the Event Viewer (Go to Start -> Run and type "eventvwr" and press Enter), under "Application" and especially under "System". You can sometimes find an explanation when your system behaves in an abnormal way, it can be such a problem type "disk" or "ntfs". In general it blocks the PC a few seconds.
