IE and Control Panel "Internet Options"
I have a Windows XP system since long time which was working fine until yesterday. Don’t know what went wrong with it suddenly it doesn’t allow me to do anything on this PC anymore. I’m not able to launch Internet Explorer (No error), I can open Control Panel but cannot use any option. I wanted to do System restore but it is not allowing me to boot in safe mode as well. I don’t have Windows Installation CD hence there is no option to reformat windows.
Any help would be appreciated.
Re: IE and Control Panel "Internet Options"
It would have been very helpful iif you had the installation disc with you at this moment. Anyways, Do you have your original media for reinstallation on a hidden partition? It should be there, please check because most systems without disks use to have the same on hidden partition. You can find it by going to Disk Management, If it is there the you will be able to open a Command Prompt and run the command:
SFC /SCANNOW
And if it is not there than you should contact the maker of the system for a copy of the original media disks.
Re: IE and Control Panel "Internet Options"
Had you made any changes in the system due to which the problem appeared? Like id you updated the Internet Explorer recently to version 7 and thereafter it stopped working? If yes, try installing IE7 again.
