HP India welcomes academia to 'HP Innovate 2009'
Hewlett-Packard India announced the launch of the second edition of its annual technology innovation and entrepreneurship event ‘HP Innovate 2009’. The award seeks to recognize and reward outstanding creative ideas of young engineering graduates across the country.
HP Innovate is an opportunity for undergraduate engineering students interested in technology entrepreneurship to present their innovative ideas in the field of computer science and engineering. It offers students a national platform to showcase their creativity and creates opportunities for channeling their potential.
HP Innovate invites research papers and prototypes from students in the areas of intelligent document processing, nanotechnology, cryptography, multimedia and gaming, embedded technology, network security, server virtualization and other disciplines.
Launched in 2007, HP Innovate witnessed an overwhelming participation from more than 382 students representing 52 institutions across the country. Some of the top universities that were present at HP Innovate 2008 included BMS college of Engineering, IIT Kanpur, BITS Goa, NIITs’ and others to name a few.
“HP Innovate 2009 furthers our commitment to the collaborative academic community that is advancing innovations in computer science and engineering” said Dr Vinnie Jauhari, Region Lead, India Open Innovation Office, HP Labs. “The launch of this year’s program is a natural extension of HP’s ongoing mutually beneficial relationships with academia and to help universities drive innovation and create new models of success for integrating technology into learning,” she added.
The winning team will win a sponsored trip to Palo Alto, USA and the opportunity to interact with eminent researchers at HP Labs. :cool:
