How to connect a network hard drive on your PC ?
Hello!
In fact, I find a solution to connect my Maxtor Share Storage II 500GB (normally network disk!) Directly to my PC (via ethernet cable). to use my gigabit (if I pass through the router, I am limited to 100Mbit / s) and Any solution?
PS: I have tried to configure via a DHCP server but without success: :crybaby:
Re: How to connect a network hard drive on your PC ?
When your disk is connected to the router has an IP address. It is automatically assigned?
Try to put a fixed IP. So when do you plugged directly to the PC, you are assigned a fixed IP to your PC and you can access your disk.

I had not thought like that but it's actually easier to configure the router via first to be strenuously with the computer. So your way if it works I also found otherwise, putting the sharing of network connection (it starts a DHCP server) on your PC (with Win XP) and then we saw not know the address given, I took a program called "Advanced IP scanner" and that allowed me to scan my network range.
Thank you for your reply and spending a great day!
