Vista stuck on black screen with mouse after boot progress bar

After upgrading to Windows Vista, I had created a clone of my system. I am using Seagate's DiscWizard for that. The clone image is kept in the old system. Now as everything was working fine, I though I can use the hard drive of old system in the other one. So I connected that. I performed chkdsk to find error in the old disc. It freezes and did not moved ahead. Now When Vista start it stucked on the black screen. The mouse cursor is visible but nothing happens. I cannot get into the deskop.

It looks to be issue with the video driver. I do not think the old drive is causing problem in your system. I will advice you to update your system drivers and then check back. I hope the problem will be solved. There are some bootable tools available that can help you to scan your system drive for errors.
