SBS 2008 Config Question
I recently started with my MAPS SBS 2008 installation. The install part is very smooth and doesnt require the same interaction as SBS 2003 but I think I am having some sort of issue. In my Standard SBS 2003 install, the server was dual nic and the SBS 2003 acted as the DHCP server for the lan. With SBS 2008 I can see it going more toward a single nic but here comes the problem. The router connecting the server to the internet is also running DHCP server services so that it can manage other devices and I am not able to turn it off. The equivilent CIECW wizard in 2008 wants to set DHCP server but it will stop the service because another DHCP server is running. What should I do? Can anyone help

If I understand your config properly then you have an ISP supplied device/router that is doing DHCP for internet connection. In SBS 2003, you had the second NIC connected to that. Your concern is that with SBS 2008, which only supports a Single Nic scenario that you will have problems between the 2 DHCP servers.

You need to verify your router setup before installing Windows SBS 2008. If your router supports the UPnP framework, and it is set up properly, then Windows SBS 2008 can do the following, check out from this link - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l.../cc527508.aspx
