Error when installing XP after Vista
I would like to share your experience with me!
I have Windows Vista Home installed on my computer and I want to install XP Pro as a multi Boot. But the problem is that during the installation, XP copy files well (on a partition) and when you restart for the actual installation at the boot I get an error saying there is no boot file. It does not reboot on the XP installation.
Where am I wrong?
Re: Error when installing XP after Vista
Why don't you install Vista boot pro software and make a dual boot of both Windows XP and Windows Vista ?
Re: Error when installing XP after Vista
I have already installed Vista Boot Pro. The problem is that to create my dual boot, I could not install XP as it does not restart. The installation of XP is in two phases, the first, you demand that partition you want to install, then copy all the files needed to install, and then you restart to boot normally. But it does not do that because it comes into conflict with the boot vista.
Re: Error when installing XP after Vista
Normally there should not be any conflict since the PC boot from the CD and not from the hard disk. Maybe your XP CD is playing with you.
Otherwise, try to install XP on another hdd because it seems to me that the dual boot is possible by using 2 different hdd.
Re: Error when installing XP after Vista
According to me, it is impossible to install XP if Vista is already installed. I did several tests and researches and found that you must first install XP and then vista!
