Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU
Hi, being new to computing I thought id ask this question.
I have been running the same PC for a while now and installed the latest Nvidia 180 drivers for my graphics card (NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX * 2), rebooted and ever since then my task manager is showing only two out of the four cpu's, I have checked my bios but cannot see where I set-up number of CPU's.
I have already tried uninstalling the drivers, but that did nothing.
BIOS: Phoenix - AwardBIOS v6.00PG
if task manager is only showing 2, does that then mean the O/S is only iusing 2 out of the four.
Any help would be most agreeable
Re: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU
Does the issue occur with the old Graphics Drivers as well?
Re: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU
What version of Windows are you running? what OS you are using ?
Re: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU
You may have already done this, but just to be sure. Click on the Performance tab in Task Manager. Click on View and make sure under CPU history, you've checked "One Graph per CPU."

Open device manager, select the item shown under computer and update the driver.

Re: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU
Hi, thanks for the reply, so to answer some of the questions.
The old drivers were fine i could see all four cores.
Then they disappeared after installing 180 nvidia drivers, and even uninstalling these they still only show 2 cores.
Windows Vistaâ„¢ Home Premium (6.0, Build 6001) Service Pack 1
Yes have one graph per cpu showing.
in Msconfig it's only showing 2 cores.
Hope this helps.
Cheers for help so far.
