Overclocking Ram...
let's discuss RAM overclocking over here....
I've heard its 1 of the most effective overclocking components...
1 have a kingston DDR1 1gb chip...It's freq. is set on auto from BIOS.
what would be its effective frequency that it can tolerate .
and what would it be currently running on ?!

Re: Overclocking Ram...
Overclocking the RAM alone is pointless in most modern-day systems.. you are better off increasing it in sync with your FSB, or tightening/lowering its timings.
What frequency your RAM stick can do depends on a lot of variables like rated speeds, ICs used on it, voltage, motherboard support, as well as your own tweaking to get it there.
What freq your Kingston stick is doing is anyone's guess since you haven't mentioned your config.

Re: Overclocking Ram...
Overclocking the ram can help a bit.. I used Transcend JetRam 800Mhz at stock speeds, timings & voltages (800MHz, 5-5-5-18, 1.8V), when i play UT3, it showed a lot of frame drops at times.. Then i OC'd it to 920Mhz with 4-4-4-12 @ 1.92V. The results very nice, the frame rates stabilized & never again i got a drop in frame rates..
