Subtotals problem in Excel 2007
Hi friends,
i was using earlier versions of Excel for several years, but recently i have installed Excel 2007 on my pc, now I am trying to insert a subtotal in a list of data in a worksheet. I have Windows XP with Service Pack 3.
My data is sorted (primary sort is the field I want a subtotal for - it is alphabetic and has no blanks in any cell; there are two other secondary sorts for two other fields as well).
Each column in the list has a label in the first row, contains similar facts in each column, and the range has no blank rows.
When I try to subtotal, the Subtotal icon (in the Outline group on the Data tab) is grayed out, whether or not I select the entire column of data, or one cell in the data.
What should i do to get a subtotal ?
help me

Did you ever figure out how to do the subtotals? I'm having the same problem. Thank you.
